Local groups Fundraising
Whether you want to fundraise to pay for a trip to another slope or for a trip abroad below are some ideas to help you raise funds. I am sure you have all got plenty of fantastic and innovative ways of fundraising for your group, so please let us know what has worked well for you so that we can pass it on to other groups.

Ideas for on the slopes
- Sponsored Ski-athon- the whole group skiing the height of Mount Everest
- Sponsored Slalom races
- Ski Boot Sale - Sell old ski gear at the slope
- Bi-Ski rides - Charge £5 for public to ride in Bi Ski *conditions apply
- Sponsored Fancy Dress skiing session
- Multi activity race day
- Ski Clinic – Get an Instructor to give skiers tips for a donation at the bottom off the slope. Tip of the day. Advertise beforehand so they take the money on the slopes with them!
- Collection at your slope (please see event guidelines for legal requirements)

Getting your local community involved
Below are events that you could hold in the restaurants/bars at your ski slope or in your local area to highlight your group. By charging a small admission or entry fee you could raise a fair amount of money. You could also have a raffle/auction at your event to raise more funds (please see event guidelines for legal requirements).
- Big Tea or Coffee morning, Get your friends & neighbours to bake some cakes and provide a packet of tea or coffee each, find a good venue and sell teas, coffees & cakes for a donation. Even include a raffle.
- Quiz night at local pub, if one already exists ask the landlord the proceeds can be donated and advertise the event beforehand with flyers & posters. If they don’t hold a quiz ask if you can set one up. Chose a mid week night so the pub can boost their own profits. They might even put on a free buffet!
- Music evening or ski-oke, donations to sing or donations to stop singing!
- Cheese & Wine party
- Summer bbq
- Fancy Dress pub crawl, plan your route, get permission from pubs beforehand to collect (& a free drink thrown in) grab some friends, fancy dress, charge all crawlers £10 to join in.
- Amateur dramatics / operatic evening
- Ski fashion show
- Comedy evening- contact your local comedy venue and see what they can do to help.
- Bag packing at local supermarkets, get your friends to help and permission from your local supermarket. This can raise around £300!
- Back other events – look out for local events, fetes, dances etc over the summer and ask if you can hold a tombola, raffle or cake stall to raise money
- Sponsored country bike ride – fancy dress will help raise money!
- Triathlon
- Sponsored walk -Fancy dress or not
- CommunityPicnic in the park, prizes for the most creative table setting. Charge for entering and even get some outdoor games & entertainments
- Group Car Boot Sale - Get rid of your old junk and make money while you're at it
- Bingo
- Summer fete
- Blizzard festival (a snow related festival) to start the ski season
- Christmas carol singing
The wilder your ideas the better, as this will make your event stand out from the crowd and hopefully help you raise money for your group

Involving your employers
- Match Giving – enquire if your employer will match pound for pound what you have raised
- Payroll giving
- Themed events – e.g. masquerade ball
- Organise sporting events in your work place
- Organise a ladies lunch
- Dress down day e.g. Shimmer for Ski where you where your coolest sparklest outfits for the day. – Non uniform day.
- Skills auction – works well in the workplace, get your colleagues to ‘donate’ their skills from dress making to tea making. Organise an open bid system
- Advertise your event around your workplace
- Ask for gifts in kind from your employers for raffle/auction prizes
- Spread the word of your charity
Other little earners
Ebay- sell items from your attic on ebay and donate 10% or 100% 
- Street collection in your local town or supermarket at a key time of year
